Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
We want you to enrol with confidence. This policy explains how to cancel and how much you get back. It is part of our Terms and Conditions.
In short
- Changed your mind? Cancel within 14 days of paying, before the course starts, for a full refund.
- After that, the earlier you cancel before the start date, the more you get back.
- If we cancel or postpone a course, you always get a full refund or a free transfer — your choice.
1. What this policy covers
This policy applies to certification courses booked on gipmedu.com and to the registration fee for certification by application (section 5). Course fees paid at an authorised GIPM study centre are covered too; refunds of those fees are paid by the same centre, following this policy.
2. How to cancel
Email admissions@gipmedu.com from the address linked to your account, with your name and enrolment reference. Your cancellation takes effect on the day we receive it, and we will confirm it in writing. Not attending, or not paying, does not count as cancelling.
3. 14-day cooling-off period
You can cancel within 14 days of the day you paid and receive a full refund, without giving a reason, as long as the course has not yet started. If you ask us to start the course within those 14 days, you can still cancel within the period, but we may keep a share of the fee in proportion to the classes already delivered.
4. Cancelling a course
After the cooling-off period, refunds depend on how long before the course start date we receive your cancellation:
| When you cancel | What you get back |
|---|---|
| 30 days or more before the start date | Full fee, minus an administration fee of CHF 100 |
| 14 to 29 days before the start date | 50% of the fee |
| Less than 14 days before the start date, or after the course has started | No refund — but you may transfer once, free of charge, to a later intake of the same course starting within 12 months (subject to available places) |
Instead of cancelling, you can also ask to transfer to another intake or course at any time before the start date. If the new course costs more you pay the difference; if it costs less, we refund the difference.
5. Certification registration fee
- Applying is free. The registration fee is requested only after your application is approved, so you never pay for an application we do not accept.
- You can cancel within 14 days of paying the registration fee for a full refund, as long as your training or assessment has not started.
- After that, or once your training or assessment has started, the registration fee is not refunded — it covers the evaluation of your application and your registration.
- If we cancel the certification you registered for, or cannot offer you a training or assessment date within 12 months, we refund the registration fee in full.
- The registration fee is separate from any course fee. Course fees follow section 4.
6. If we cancel or change a course
If we cancel or postpone a course — for example because too few people enrolled — or make a substantial change as described in our Terms and Conditions, you can choose either a full refund of what you paid for the undelivered part, or a free transfer to another intake or course. We cannot cover other costs you may have had, such as travel or equipment.
7. When no refund is due
- Your place was given or kept on the basis of false or forged information or documents.
- Your enrolment ended because of serious misconduct (see our Terms and Conditions).
- You did not attend or did not complete the course without cancelling it.
- Optional extras that have already been used or delivered, such as an issued certificate.
8. Exceptional circumstances
If you cannot continue because of serious illness, a bereavement in your close family, or a similar serious event, please contact us with supporting evidence. We will look at each case individually and offer, at least, to move you to a later intake.
9. How refunds are paid
- We pay refunds within 30 days of confirming your cancellation.
- Card payments are refunded to the same card. Bank transfers are refunded to the account the payment came from, unless you show us that it has been closed.
- Refunds are made in Swiss francs (CHF). We refund the amount we received; bank charges and exchange-rate differences between payment and refund are not covered.
10. Your legal rights
This policy does not limit any mandatory rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live. If those rights give you more than this policy, you keep them.
