Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 4 November 2026
Please read these terms before you enrol. They explain what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. When you enrol and tick the box to accept them, they form a contract between you and us.
1. About these terms
GIPM (Global Institute of Polytechnic and Management) is operated by GIPM, Genève, Switzerland. In these terms, “GIPM”, “we” and “us” mean that company, and “you” means the person who creates an account or enrols.
These terms apply to the website gipmedu.com, to student accounts, and to every course and certificate we offer. Our Cancellation & Refund Policy and Privacy Policy form part of these terms. If a course page, offer letter or written agreement says something different about a specific course or certificate, that specific document applies for that point.
These terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version applies if they differ.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to enrol. Applicants aged 16 or 17 may enrol with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, who also accepts these terms.
- The information you give us — your name, date of birth, contact details, qualifications and documents — must be true, complete and your own. Your name on your certificate will match the name in your profile, so enter it as it appears on your passport or national ID.
- Your account is personal. Keep your password safe and do not share your account or class links. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- We may suspend or close an account that is used fraudulently, shared, or used to break these terms. Where possible we will tell you why first.
3. Courses, certification and admission
Each course page describes its content, duration, delivery mode, intake dates, entry requirements and price. We work hard to keep these pages accurate, but they are not a guarantee that every detail will stay the same (see section 6).
- Certification courses booked online: your place is confirmed when your payment has been received and your enrolment is shown as active in your dashboard.
- Certification by application: you apply from your dashboard with your profile, work experience and documents. Applying is free. We evaluate your application, normally within 2–3 working days, and may ask you for more information. If we approve it, we tell you by email and ask you to pay the registration fee. Your registration is confirmed when the registration fee has been received. An approval is not a promise that a certificate will be issued — you must still complete the training or assessment (see section 7).
- We may ask for documents such as a passport or national ID, a photo, academic certificates, a CV or work references. We may verify them with the issuing body.
- We may refuse or withdraw a place if documents are false, altered or misleading, or if entry requirements are not met. If you have paid, the Cancellation & Refund Policy explains what is refunded — except that no refund is due where you gave false information.
- Each intake has a limited number of places, allocated in the order payments are received.
4. Fees and payment
- All prices are in Swiss francs (CHF) and are the total fee for the course unless the page says otherwise. Any optional extras are shown separately.
- The registration fee for certification by application is shown on our Certification page. It is separate from any course fee and is requested only after your application is approved.
- If you study at an authorised GIPM study centre, your course fee may be paid to that centre instead of through our website. Only pay a centre that GIPM has confirmed to you in writing or in your dashboard, and always ask for an official receipt.
- You can pay by card through our payment provider Stripe, or by bank transfer to one of the GIPM bank accounts shown during checkout. We never ask you to pay into a personal account or to a third party.
- For bank transfers, use your enrolment reference so we can match your payment. Your enrolment stays pending until the full amount reaches our account. We may cancel a pending enrolment if payment has not arrived within 14 days, or earlier if the intake fills up.
- Bank charges, intermediary bank fees and currency conversion costs are your responsibility. The amount that reaches us must equal the full fee in CHF.
- Instalment plans are available only if we agree them with you in writing.
- If you do not pay an amount when it is due, we may pause your access to classes and withhold your certificate until it is paid.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your enrolment at any time by writing to us. What is refunded depends on when you cancel; the full rules, including a 14-day cooling-off period, are in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
6. How courses are delivered
- Courses may be delivered online (live classes and self-paced lessons), on campus, or as a combination, as stated on the course page.
- Live online classes run on a video platform such as Zoom. Class times are published in Swiss time (CET/CEST). You are responsible for joining at the right time in your own time zone.
- For online study you need a reliable internet connection and a suitable device with a camera and microphone. We are not responsible for classes you miss because of problems with your own equipment, connection or electricity supply, but we will help where we can, for example with recordings.
- We may change instructors, class times, the learning platform or the order of topics where needed. If we make a substantial change — such as moving the start date by more than 30 days or changing an online course to on-campus only — you may choose a free transfer to another intake or a full refund of the fees for the parts not yet delivered.
- A course may be cancelled or postponed if there are too few participants or for reasons beyond our control. You will then receive a full refund or a free transfer, as you prefer.
7. Assessment and certificates
- To receive a certificate you must meet the requirements stated for the course, normally including the minimum attendance (80% of live sessions unless stated otherwise), completion of the lessons and assessments, and full payment of fees.
- Certificates are issued by GIPM and carry a unique ID that anyone can check on our verification page. We may revoke a certificate obtained through misconduct or false information.
Recognition. Unless a course page expressly names an accrediting or awarding body, GIPM certificates are private institutional certificates. They are not Swiss federal or cantonal diplomas and are not academic degrees. Whether a certificate is recognised by an employer, a university, or an authority in another country — including for work permits, further study or professional registration — is decided by that organisation. Please check with them before you enrol if recognition matters to you.
8. Conduct and academic integrity
We want every class to be a respectful, safe place to learn. You agree that you will not:
- harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse other students, instructors or staff, online or offline;
- cheat, plagiarise, have someone else complete your work, or present AI-generated work as your own where this is not allowed;
- share your login, class links or course materials with people who are not enrolled;
- disrupt classes, post unlawful or offensive content, or try to interfere with our systems.
If you break these rules we may give a warning, fail an assessment, suspend you or, in serious cases, end your enrolment. We will normally hear your side first. Fees are not refunded when an enrolment ends because of serious misconduct.
9. Course materials and recordings
- All course materials — videos, slides, documents and recordings — belong to GIPM or our licensors. You may use them for your own study only. You may not copy, sell, publish or share them.
- Live classes may be recorded so that enrolled students can review them. If you do not want to appear in a recording, you may keep your camera off and use the chat. Recordings are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You may not record classes yourself without our permission and the agreement of the people taking part.
10. International students
We welcome students from many countries, including Nepal. If you live outside Switzerland, please note:
- Language. Classes, materials and assessments are in English unless the course page says otherwise. You need enough English to follow the course.
- Visas. Online courses do not give a right to a Swiss visa or residence permit. For any on-campus study, visa and permit decisions are made by the Swiss authorities, not by GIPM, and we cannot guarantee them. The Cancellation & Refund Policy explains what happens if a visa is refused.
- Paying from abroad. You are responsible for following the foreign-exchange and banking rules of your own country when paying fees abroad. On request we will issue an invoice or enrolment confirmation to support a payment through your bank.
- Agents and representatives. You do not need an agent to enrol. We only work with representatives we have confirmed in writing, and they are not allowed to charge you extra fees on our behalf. Always pay GIPM directly — by card at checkout or to the bank accounts shown in your GIPM dashboard — or, for course fees, an authorised GIPM study centre as described in section 4. If someone asks you to pay elsewhere, contact us first.
- Recognition at home. See the recognition note in section 7. Recognition of foreign certificates is decided by the authorities and employers of your country.
- Local law. You are responsible for making sure that taking an online course from Switzerland is allowed for you where you live.
11. Internships and careers support
Where a course includes careers support, internship placement help or introductions to employers, we will make reasonable efforts to help you. Unless a written agreement says otherwise, we do not guarantee a job, an internship, a particular salary or a work permit. Internships are subject to the employer’s selection and to the immigration and employment rules of the country where they take place.
12. Liability
- We are responsible for providing the courses we have agreed to provide with reasonable care and skill.
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of earnings or opportunities, or for loss caused by events beyond our reasonable control (for example natural disasters, epidemics, government measures, or failures of internet or power networks).
- Our total liability to you in connection with a course is limited to the fees you paid for that course.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
13. Your personal data
We handle your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where they apply, other data-protection laws.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the law or our services change. The version you accepted at enrolment continues to apply to that enrolment, unless a change is required by law or is only to your benefit. The date at the top of this page shows when the terms were last updated.
15. Complaints, governing law and jurisdiction
- If you are unhappy, please contact us first at admissions@gipmedu.com with your enrolment reference. We aim to reply within 10 working days and to resolve complaints fairly.
- These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
- The courts at our registered office in Geneva, Switzerland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, any mandatory rights you have under the law of the country where you live — including the right to bring proceedings in your local courts — are not affected.
